The race starts at 10.30am from Sea Road and there will be rolling road closures along the route to keep the runners safe. Roads will be closed until 1pm. Railway closing this autumn between Tunbridge Wells Hastings and Bexhill for essential improvement work

Passengers travelling between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings and between Bexhill and Hastings are advised to plan ahead as a major programme of improvement work takes place between Saturday 25 October and Sunday 2 November 2025. Big Sleep Seaview event on Friday 3 October

For one night only, The Big Sleep Hastings invites individuals and teams to swap their bed for a sleeping bag on Friday 3 October (from 8 pm) at the Seaview Project in St Leonards. Hosted in Hattons Yard Warehouse, this event helps raise awareness and funds for people experiencing homelessness. Expect live music (featuring Monsat Inc, Sister Susie, King Size Slim), testimonies from those with lived experience, plus hot drinks, a soup run, and more. If you prefer not to sleep out, there’s a “Live Event Only” option (8-11 pm) for a minimum donation. Under-18s can take part in a special private/home space experience. Science Fair Returns to Hastings on 18 October

Hastings Borough Council announce the day of activities, hands-on science and demonstrations for all the family. You will be able to see how science contributes to everyday life with scientists and community groups from Hastings and Sussex. The event is free, and you can drop-in to the atrium of East Sussex College (next to Hastings train station) at any time between 11am and 4pm. Plan Your Weekend Journey A259 Hastings Bexhill Closure

Footbridge replacement works on the A259 at Bexhill-on-Sea will take place in three phases, involving 24/7 lane closures, overnight closures, and two full weekend closures. The first closure is scheduled from Friday 5 September (8pm) to Monday 8 September (6am) for the removal of the existing footbridges, followed by overnight closures from Monday 8 September for four nights. The final phase, installing the new bridges, will require another full closure from Friday 28 November (8pm) to Monday 1 December (6am). Pedestrian diversions will be signposted, and traffic will be diverted via the A269, Upper Sea Road, and Magdalen Road in both directions.
